In addition, we can arrange Flight Seeing for backcountry animal and glacier spotting.

There is a 40 acre lake (100 miles, core sampled at 14,500 years of age) located at the Matanuska Lodge and guests are welcome to canoe, paddleboat, walk the trail around the lake, enjoy a picnic and all the natural wildlife including moose, swans, loons, and many varieties of birds and ducks.

In the spring and summer, the wildflowers are waiting for you. In late August, there are lush blueberries available to pick as you walk the trail. In the winter, there are snow machine trails, as well as cross country skiing in close proximity to the Lodge. The hot tub is a delightful way to spend the evening as you stay warm in the cold and enjoy the beauty of the stars and the Northern Lights.
